How does SteamDaddy work?

SteamDaddy uses steam at up to 100 °C and 4 bar pressure to dissolve dirt, grease, limescale, and bacteria – completely without the use of chemicals. The steam penetrates even small crevices and loosens stubborn dirt in a gentle yet effective way.

Can it remove dirt without chemicals?

Yes. The steam effectively dissolves grease, limescale, dirt, and microorganisms – without using cleaning agents. This is due to the high temperature and pressure, which break down organic residues and loosen dirt from surfaces.

Can it be used on carpets?

Yes, the steam cleaner can be used on carpets. The steam kills dust mites and their eggs and is gentler than chemical cleaners, which can leave residues in the carpet. Remember to vacuum afterward to completely remove dead dust mites, eggs, and dirt.

How long should I steam an area to kill dust mites?

Dust mites die at around 55–60 °C. The steam cleaner emits steam at over 100 °C, which kills them quickly. Keep the nozzle close to the surface and move it slowly – about 5–10 seconds per area of approximately 10×10 cm is enough for the heat to penetrate the fabric. Make sure to cover the entire surface systematically and let the material dry afterward.

What temperature is needed to kill bacteria?

Most bacteria die at temperatures above 60 °C, but to achieve a disinfecting effect, steam of around 80–100 °C is typically required. SteamDaddy produces steam at approximately 100 °C, which is effective against many common bacteria.

Does it remove mold?

The steam cleaner can effectively help remove surface mold on hard, dense surfaces such as tiles, grout, glass, metal, and enamel.

The steam is heated to around 100 °C, which is sufficient to kill mold spores on the surface. Combined with pressure, the steam also loosens the mold’s organic residues, making them easier to wipe away.

Please note:

  • Steam does not remove mold deep inside materials (e.g., drywall or wood) where the mold has penetrated the structure.
  • For deeper or persistent issues, it should be combined with mold removers or professional treatment.
  • Never use the steam cleaner on untreated or absorbent materials, where moisture can penetrate and worsen the problem.

How long does it take to heat up?

Our steam cleaner is ready for use in approximately 15 seconds, so you can start cleaning quickly.

It sprays a little water at first – is that normal?

Yes, this is completely normal. During the first 2–5 seconds, it may spray a little water while heating up and building pressure. This is just residual water being pushed out of the system.

How do I fill it with water?

Turn it off and unplug it.

Open the lid on top.

Fill with up to 1250 ml of tap water (you can use distilled water to minimize limescale, but it is not required).

Close the lid tightly.

After use, you can empty the water by pulling out the plug at the bottom.

How do I maintain my SteamDaddy?

Regular maintenance ensures your SteamDaddy works efficiently and lasts longer. Follow these steps:

Empty the water tank after each use.

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth—never immerse the device in water.

Descale periodically if you use tap water, especially in areas with hard water. Use a descaling solution or vinegar following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Check the nozzle and accessories for blockages and clean them as needed.

Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

By performing these simple steps, you prevent limescale build-up, maintain steam efficiency, and prolong the lifespan of your SteamDaddy.
